#HAMILTONFORALL

#HamiltonForAll is a public education campaign that aims at stimulating dialogue and opening minds by encouraging Hamiltonians to stand up against prejudice, exclusion and discrimination based on ethnicity, race, religion, country of origin, disability, sexual orientation or other differences.

 

#HamiltonForAll celebrates diversity and encourages residents to be part of Hamilton's vision to be a Hamilton For All.

BACKGROUND

Hamilton Centre for Civic Inclusion (HCCI) and Hamilton Immigration Partnership Council (HIPC) have partnered with Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants (OCASI) to launch #HamiltonForAll, a public awareness campaign that celebrates diversity and promotes Hamilton's vision to be a Hamilton For All. 

The initiative builds on OCASI's #TorontoForAll and #AjaxForAll campaigns that have addressed racism, xenophobia,  islamophobia and other issues.

#HamiltonForAll campaign visions an inclusive Hamilton by starting conversations among residents and paving the way to unlearning assumptions about people who are different and at the same time promoting for community-wide changes.

YOU ARE HAMILTON

The first phase of #HamiltonForAll aims at addressing misconceptions and stereotypes against immigrants and refugees. ​The initiative builds on OCASI's #TorontoForAll and Town of Ajax's #AjaxForAll campaigns.

 

It focuses on education by following a myth-busting approach. It showcases stories of immigrant and refugee Hamiltonians are profiled as ‘ambassadors’. Through digital posters and social media campaigns, Hamiltonians will be encouraged to be part of the conversation and take actions to showcase their vision for a more inclusive Hamilton.

 

The 'You Are Hamilton' campaign was launched on November 28, 2017.
